Bébé bébé bébé Nursery

Bebe bebe bebe nursery series

{preggers update: I wrote this post on Monday, and then set to post today. My due date was Sept. 3rd, so I’m being optimistic that girly girl would come On-Time-Ish. Know that if you have NOT seen a post about the birth of my sweet little girl, I am VERY VERY cranky. Haha!! But TRYING to be patient, I’m sure. Check Instagram or Facebook for the latest!}

Thursdays is the day for the Bébé bébé bébé Nursery series here at FHD: featuring Girl Nurseries designed by some of the most gifted designers and creative decor bloggers from around the web. {Need some boy nursery awesomeness? Check out Bijou and Boheme‘s Baby Baby Baby Nursery series.}

Today’s designer is the talented and lovely Emily of Jones Design Company.  I have been reading Emily’s blog since, well…. the beginning of blog time. I LOVE her humble spirit, her classic sense of style, and her love for the things that really matter {check out this Must-Read post… my hormonal self cannot read it at the moment….}. If you are not familiar with Jones Design Company, well, there is definitely a still good chance you are familiar with her work, which has been featured around the web and beyond. Her tutorials are amazing, her prints are perfectly from-the-heart, and just this month her beautiful office was featured in Better Homes and Gardens.  Although we have not met in person, we have certainly grown to know each other in blog-land. After years of knowing her online, I am thrilled to finally be hugging her neck this Fall at the Allume Conference. Please give a warm welcome Emily of Jones Design Company to FHD!

After three boys, our fourth baby switched things up on us and brought with her all things girly and sweet. While I’m definitely a girly-girl, pink has never been my favorite color. So when I designed our little girl’s nursery a few years ago, I approached it the same way as with this new nursery design board: sweet, feminine and classic but in unexpected shades of blues, grays and hints of gold.  With details like ruffled curtains and embellished pillows, there is just the right amount of pretty to give it that girly feel.  And with the settee, side table and art work, this room will grow with the baby or even work in other parts of the home.

I have always loved Emily’s soft, yet sophisticated, sense of style, and this nursery is no different! Neutrals, and ruffles, and natural fabrics make for the stuff of little girl dreams. My favorite things? Of course, the Twirl print! The ruffled curtains and bedding in soothing tones of burlap are so lovely! I have long adored that rug. And the gold accordion table is fabulous. And how about the gorgeous mix of pillows. And I must say, sweet dollie grabs my heart!

Thank you SO MUCH, Emily, for sharing your design sensibilities with us. This soft, sophisticated space is an inspiration to me to add a touch of goodness to each and every room!

  • I love Emily and her casual, neutral style! The fact that she lives in the PNW is an added plus and has been a major help for me (and Ryan) with the blog class!

    These colors are so peaceful and calming! I love the twirl print as well and might need to grab one for myself to put in L’s room!

    Praying baby girl comes soon!

    Blessings,
    Kayla

  • This is lovely! I am a big fan of Emily and JDC. Thinking of you and your precious baby girl!! Can’t wait to hear when she arrives. 🙂

  • So beautiful, and so JDC! I too have loved her blog since the beginning of time – it was her blog that inspired me to open my blog up to share to others (I had my blog set on private for awhile). SO happy to see this. Are you in labor yet?!? No need to answer that if you are. ha! Excited for you. 🙂 Sharon

  • This is probably my favorite in terms of what I would actually do for my own daughter’s nursery. LOVE the “I am His” sign and think I’ll make one myself! The colors are great. I am feminine but I don’t like pink for my baby (or me, really) so she gets taken for a boy a lot in all her blue and green onesies.

  • Love the gray and aqua, soft and refined but not stuffy. I agree the Twirl print is too sweet! Hang in there!

  • Beautiful. My favorite piece is the, “I am His.” What a perfect reminder for any little one starting their life. T.Y.

    Darlene, WOW thumbs up on this one – I love Emily’s take on a nursery for a baby girl. Your precious sweet pea is a lucky girl. Good luck in the few remaining hours until you met you daughter. xoxo T

  • My favorite girl room so far. I was so happy to have a boy because I feared the girly decor push from the family, but this gives me lots of ideas for just in case down the road. It’s precious without forcing me to sit amid pink frilliness and lace. Love it.

  • Hi Darlene, I hope baby has come!

    Thanks for using (and sourcing) my dresser! I was wondering where all of the traffic was coming from : )
    Congrats and good luck with baby and delivery.
