Don’t you just LOVE this “Dreamy Little Girls Bedroom?”

Happy {ditto} Monday! Ditto posts: learn how to ditto a designer room

Today’s ditto | a room I love post features a space designed by the lovely and talented Christine Dovey… a gorgeous Dreamy Little Girls Bedroom. I heart this space so, so much. It is girly perfection. {PS I apologize! Links are not working for me properly today. Head below the images to see a manual link and check out Christine’s fabulousness. Well. Worth. It.}

{Ditto posts demonstrate a great exercise for you as you continue to develop your own personal style: using your own favorite pictures, and making a quick list of what you actually love about the space. If you study what you love about a space, it helps you to bring what you LOVE into your own home!}

Enjoy this stunning space – such a “dreamy little girls bedroom,” and the quick “ditto” list of why I love it.

So. Do you love it?:

WHAT I LOVE {What I would ditto!}:

1. The bold and amazing Nina Campbell Perroquet wallpaper. What an amazing canvas for the space.

2. The contrast of those dark, dark floors! {read about why contrast is KEY in decorating head here: http://www.fieldstonehilldesign.com/2011/08/lessons-in-design-power-of-contrasts.html}

3. The vintage pieces! Or are they new? I LOVE that you can’t tell.

4. The repurposing of the closet space! This works well because the ‘lost’ storage is replaced with a dresser and the sides of the closet are still used. Perfect for a little girl with little clothing. And so dramatic! The dimension it adds to the space makes it a worthy choice!

5. The rich curtain fabric that sets off the dresser space. I love the vertical drama of thick, flowing drapes.

6. A little nook with the perfect settee? Yes please.

7. Unconventional decor pieces for a little girls room really set this room apart. A pink birdcage will certainly become a home for her dolls. And I would not be surprised if her glossy Dalmatian has a name already.

8. Grown up art, with a serious girly influence. I love that Christine used real art in the space, and not children’s art. And yet, everything still feels perfectly diminutive.

9. Fur, fluff, and poof!

10. Each piece is amazing and chosen to perfection, but my favorite is the secretary. Black, gold and cotton candy pink? How much more ditto-able can you get?

DO YOU LOVE IT?? WHAT DO YOU LOVE? WHAT DESIGN ELEMENTS WOULD YOU DITTO IN YOUR OWN HOME? DO TELL!!!!!!

  • Love, love, love the bedding. Looks so luxurious but a little girl would be so comfortable in it. Closet curtains are brilliant! Closet doors take up so much space to open. The settee in the window is gorgeous and fits perfectly. Although the wallpaper fits the room perfectly and adds much needed interest to the room, I am not a fan of wallpaper in general because of the expense, time to put up and it dates quickly.

  • i love that it’s so old fashioned looking w/out being too quaint or cliche. such great colors.

  • Oh, Darlene…I am coming off my NYC high! It went by so fast, and I am sad we did not tossle NB’s hair. Le sigh. Christine is one of my faves to follow! Her style is so so good! xoxo

  • You are the absolute SWEETEST- thanks so much Darlene!!! xx
