A sunny room in your home. I think everyone longs for a space where the sun pours in.

Why not have your room sunny-side-up ….. designer style?  This amazing sunny room is in Tory Burch’s Southampton home. It is full of amazing ditto-worthy ideas, especially if you are looking to design a sunroom in your space. Let’s take a look-sy and have fun pouring through the details that make this space so great!

{As always, I look forward to hearing from you and finding out what you would ditto, too. So, be thinking!}

DITTO :: {WHAT I WOULD STEAL FROM THIS SPACE}:

1.    A SUNNY SUNNY SUNNY ROOM.

With windows this fantastic, why hide them? Granted. I have a deep love affair with drapes, but some rooms could even be ruined with drapery. A fantastic sun room like this one is a perfect example. Bare those amazing windows and let the room be filled with sun!! Kind of the point.

2.   AN UNEXPECTED, STAND-ALONE COLOR.

A mostly neutral backdrop. A punch color of blue. Shades of cream and tan everywhere. And then! Voila! There is that simply awesome kelly-green lattice console table. It rules alone. Ditto.

3.  WICKER. RATTAN. WICKER. RATTAN.

Why be shy? Wicker lovers everywhere, take note. This room is chock full of wicker love. I think I see rattan, seagrass, bamboo. The look of wicker is so versatile, because it creates a neutral backdrop but also adds an abundance of texture. From the floor to the furnishings, to that happy ottoman-ball of wicker-goodness, Ms. Burch keeps her sunny space full of tropical flare.

4.   OH. THAT WALLPAPER.

I am completely and utterly in love with that wallpaper. I hunted for the resource but could not find it. If you know the source, do tell! I would love to ditto it!

5.   MAXIMUM-ISM.

No minimalism here. Instead: Layering!!! There are loads of collections in this narrow space. Tons of coffee table books. Tons of wicker. Tons of windows. Tons of blue and white china pieces. Tons of places to sit. This room is not shy about layering upon layering.

6.   COMFORT.

Comfy places to read, with places to put your drink, put up your feet, have plenty of light {be it sunlight or lamplight}, and with plenty of pillows. Comfort. It is soooooooo ditto-able.

7. FARMHOUSE SIMPLICITY WITH HIGH-GLOSS GLAMOUR.

Farmhouse simplicity: natural fibers, comfortable seating, bare windows

High-gloss glamour: grand lamps, blue and white china, the grand scale, bold wallpaper. Ditto!!!!!!

* * * * * * *

SO much goodness.

Love anything I did not mention? or…

WHAT WOULD YOU DITTO {STEAL} FROM THIS SPACE, 1-7? SOMETHING ELSE?

I LOVE HEARING YOUR THOUGHTS!

  • Gorgeous room, Darlene! I agree with everything that you noted. I also like the richness of the double doors at the entrance to the room. There’s just enough dark wood between the doors, the two tables and chairs to ground the space.

  • Love Tory Burch…..Tory and Eve created a gorgeous room with the perfect combinations of texture, color, pattern and amazing mix of styles….I have to ditto that entire room….Perfection!

  • Wow…..the walls and that green table are doing it for me Darlene!
    A lovely room indeed.

    It was so great meeting you at Haven. You are just as sweet as I knew you would be. Enjoy the week my friend.

  • LOVE this space! The texture is amazing. I’m eating it up! YUMMY! ;}

  • What’s not to love in there? Since I long to have more light in my own home, I am very drawn to all those windows and doors and the abundance of light. In combination with all the texture and beauty of the room, it is simply beautiful!

  • I would gladly take those windows & doors {and the hardware}

  • Love this room! It is so inviting and that green table is gorgeous.

  • Wow – that’s a lot of texture and pattern! A little too much going on for my taste but gorgeously executed all the same. My favorite is the wallpaper and that elliptical-like poof.

  • I love the white and the windows. It’s so sunny! I like the doors, too. Wood is one of favorite things.

  • This is a beautiful room and not too busy for my taste. I love the blue/white and that unexpected touch of kelly green. I think the elements of the space are timeless and like how the photo is staged to draw your eye all the way through the room, so you don’t miss any details. Love it all, especially the windows and light.

    It was so nice speaking with you at Haven and thank you for the nudge about the Relevant/Allume conference!
