Happy {ditto} Monday! Ditto posts: learn how to ditto a designer room

Yep. A Monday Ditto. Carry on as if everything is normal…

It has been a while since I mentioned how much I do NOT like to do DIY projects. Those of you who have been hanging with me for a while know this fact. And you also know that I think, if you ARE going to bother doing a DIY project, I really think you should do one that is worth all the time and money. In other words, don’t be fooled into thinking DIYs are cheap, if you consider your materials and time.. so it had BETTER be ditto-worthy and look dang good in the end.

I keep an entire Pinterest board filled with DIY projects that I think are ditto-worthy. Not that I ever do any of them…

I call this board DIY’s Worth Doing, because I think they are WORTH it. They could result in a high-end look and will save you money and look ROCKING if you are willing to put in the time. Not many DIY projects make my cut, she says with a smile.

The other day I stumbled upon a project that I think is ULTRA ditto-worthy! I think you will love it as much as I do:

Check out this gorgeousness:

agate walls

{Rosa Beltran Design}

Can you believe that all of this magic happened with marbled art paper and mounting squares!!? FOR REAL. Click on over to this post on Rosa’s blog to get the full scoop {which is super simple} so you can recreate the prettiness in a nook of your own.

Cheap. Simple. Classy. with results that look like TOTAL high-gloss glamour!!!! I vote yes.

Feeling inspired by Agate and Marbled walls? I TOTALLY am.

More ditto-worthy inspiration for marbleized and agate walls can be found on my Pin-board “Inspiration Fabrics and Wallcoverings.” Meanwhile, here are three of my personal faves :

  • I love this DIY! I’m obsessed with marble paper and fabric, and I love this application for it. The first photo of the paper in the niche is so dramatic and I adore the colors in the paper paired with the wood tones. You’ve got me thinking about the backs of my bookcases – mounting squares sounds doable! Thanks for sharing this project Darlene.

  • It’s been a dream of mine to marbleize the bathroom walls for awhile… I’ve been coveting the look for ages. I am ‘making do’ with a piece of framed marble paper until I get bold enough to go for the real deal. 🙂

  • I adore marbelized walls and that dining room by Apparatus is one of my all time favs!!!!

  • Adore this look! A few years ago I made my own marbleized paper using nail polish and framed a few which are still hanging up in my gallery wall. I love the big oversized sheets of paper though!! I think Jennifer Stagg is doing something like this in her home Reno too!!!
