Did you have Pink and Pretty Barbie Doll?

With all this talk of girl around here, I have let my mind wander back to the days of Pink and Pretty. The days of ruffles and skirts and twirling.

I have been all ruffles and fuchsia and pink and pretty around my home lately. For those who follow me on Instagram, you have been able to see sneaky-peakys of the nursery – here and there. More coming!

Here is another sneaky-peaky, one that I have not shared on Instagram yet:

Pink and Pretty I am in love with the moulding that we added!, and the Farrow and Ball Wall Clunch paint {here’s how I decided!}, accented by the French Ivory WS 8017 Trim color {also on the picture frame moulding}. The dresser belonged to my older sister… from her nursery in the 70’s! We updated it with modern knobs from here.

Now we need some art.

Oh, and a cute baby girl!

So much of my space has been inspired by other beautiful spaces. And not just spaces, but nearly anything girly and pink! And I must admit, I have been a bit heavy on the Pink and Pretty after 8 years as a boy mom!

Do you dare to infuse some Pink and Pretty into your own home?

I have been gathering lots of Pink and Pretty Inspiration. And I definitely recommend scouring images for inspiration when you are about to create a beautiful space.

Kind of like immersing yourself in a character study. Which this singing actress kinda digs.

So, spill it. Did you love Pink and Pretty? Do you still love Pink and Pretty?

  • Beautiful images!! I have had a hard time loving pink in the past 10 years of my life. I blame it on the 90’s pastel pink bedroom with purple and pink heart wall paper! Pretty cool at the time but I had that room for way too long growing up! I tend to gravitate more toward blush pinks or corals. My house has very little pink in it but my garden is exploding with pink and fushias. I guess that is okay! So I think my conclusion is I like the color in certain context….and I’m still not ready to let it fully back into my home. Although as my daughter grows I might be convinced otherwise! 😉

Excited to see more of the babies room!!!
    Blessings,
    Kayla

  • Of all the images, I shouldn’t be surprised that my favorite is the girl on the bike with….the gingham heels 😉 There’s just something about it…I can’t resist the gingham/buffalo check (guess that means, if I take your advice “gather images of inspiration when you’re about to create a beautiful room” that I WILL be using the black and cream buffalo check fabric for my window treatments when we finally finish the kitchen remodel)!!

Even having 3 girls, I can’t say I gravitate to pink, but maybe it’s because it’s never been “kept” from me…in fact, I am thinking of adding magenta with my red accents in our family room…but, it’s that warm combo that I love…don’t get me wrong, a beautiful pastel pink is glorious, but I am always more drawn to “pops” and “warmth”…you’ve done that perfectly in Baby Girls room…Oooo, I just can’t wait to see her in there 😉

Thanks for another inspirational, and beautiful, post <3

  • I love pink. I’ve always loved pink. Any pink. As a redhead, I’ve never worn much pink, but my studio is decorated in it so I’m surrounded by it. Three of my daughters have a pink bedroom, so I’m not alone on my house as a pink lover!

  • My favorite shade of pink right now is the pale pink on my Mary Kay tubes, but there is also a TON of hot pink in my living room from Barbie stuff. 🙂 LOVE your new hardware!

  • LOVE these soft colors and the pink is beautiful!

  • Darlene I don’t know how you did it but I am so excited for you and your new baby girl!! Your happiness is contagious. I have a 21 month old baby girl my Isabel and I adore everything about her even when she is upset she is cute hehe. I decorated her room with tones of green and like a light coral pink and there’s some blue and a bit of yellow too we love being there and everything is so special because it has a sentimental value to us, some new things but a lot of old things that were mine or that people made for her.
Love you pics on instagram of you beautiful family. I don’t know how you do so much, cooking, designing, home schooling etc. Awesome!!

I love pink too! So much pink prettiness in your inspirations!
