our wedding day
Friday, October 7, 2011 by {darlene}

It started out rainy.

and like any good Diva, I threw quite the temper tantrum about it, insisting that the “good luck story” was a gigantic lie, created to make brides accept the fact that their wedding day turned out to be ugly.

but the small rain passed, and the purest of blue skies opened upon our day.

12 years ago.

I am up way too late to tell you much, and lots of fun celebrating planned for this weekend {lots to do!}, so it is a good thing that pictures tell a thousand words.

of course, there was home-brewed beer, a traditional wedding march behind a bagpiper, a solid chocolate wedding cake, autumn leaves {collected by the bride. the day before}, and – what else – fieldstone.  Our wedding was somewhere in between farmhouse simplicity and high-gloss glamour; imagine that. The start of it all.

October 9, 1999.
