for a song :: apples at the table
Wednesday, November 3, 2010 by {darlene}

Why put your apples on the counter
when they can add instant season and color to your table?
Not to mention, they are free… as far as a decoration goes.
That is, if you eat apples anyway.

renovation :: pumpkin pine floors
Tuesday, November 2, 2010 by {darlene}

When we decided to boy our 180 year old farmhouse, the floors definitely sealed the deal.
Although they had seen better days, we saw the gleaming pumpkin color peeking through.

So, before any furniture, or people for that matter, moved in {which I would definitely recommend, if you should have that luxury},
our very first renovation project at Fieldstone Hill was restoring the wide-board antique pines back to their beauty. It brought us much joy to regard the history of our home, and to bring life back into these rare wide boards.

In some places the floors were nearly black. Here you can see what the floors looked like when we first moved in:

And, after the restoration:

more Fieldstone Hill renovation will be in store. Hope to see you here.
